Edwardian
The Classic rectangular design of Edwardian style conservatories allows the optimum use of space. A ridged roof system ensures symmetry of design.
The Edwardian conservatory is a room in every respect. Rectangular in shape there is no more practical conservatory than an Edwardian. Space maximisation is what it does best.
Don't be fooled though by it's practicality. An Edwardian conservatory is as elegant as it is useful. With a range of colours, glazing and finishes available, you will be as surprised by it's good looks as you are by your extra living space.
Victorian
This design comes with a ridged roof and a three or five faceted end wall creating a half rounded feature. This unusual aspect makes the external design of Victorian style conservatories attractive but can slightly restrict the layout of furniture internally.
The Victorian Conservatory is a modern design classic. Sharp roof angles are softened by its facets to create a rounded, styled finish. You can choose three or five facets to suit your property, and wide or narrow panels.
As you would expect, there is nothing standard about our Victorian conservatory. Every detail is designed to match your home and your needs. Let us make your extra space a reality.
Lean to
The simplest and most popular form of conservatory, sometimes known as a sunroom. A single sloped roof running along the length of an external house wall.
If youre limited in space or height, then there is no better way to make the most of it than with a lean-to conservatory. For bungalows, low eaves or if you simply want the most simplistic of designs, itís yours with the lean-to. But donít be fooled by the simplicity of the design. Style, security and a range of finishes come as standard so a lean-to need never feel like a compromise.
Orangeries
A poorly planned and constructed conservatory is perhaps the least effective form of home improvement. It can be uncomfortably warm in summer and almost unusable when it is too cold in winter. The most common problems have usually been caused by the wrong type of glazing and too little ventilation in the summer and the wrong type of glazing and a lack of heating in winter.
For some families this dilemma has been solved with the evolution of a new design of conservatory that has its origins almost three centuries ago.
Coming to popularity in the early part of the 17th Century, the Orangery became a fashionable addition to the landed gentry in the Netherlands for the growing of sweet oranges. It didnít take long for other countries to adopt the Orangery and this early form of conservatory began appearing in the wealthier estates across Europe. Typical in their design with solid pillar with tall glazed windows and partially glazed solid roof, they are now in great demand as more and more homeowners are discovering the beauty and practicality of a themed Orangery. This type of conservatory is seen as the perfect solution for Irish home owners who are looking for something other than a conventional conservatory.
With the majority of customers purchasing conservatories for the purpose of adding additional space to their homes, the introduction of the orangery conservatory is a fantastic way to fully utilise the heat and light that can be harnessed from the sun creating an inviting space that can be utilised for any use.
The greater the amount of solid structure the cooler and more comfortable the interior, particularly with south facing gardens that get sun all day. In the winter the reverse is true, the more structural brickwork the easier it is to keep warm.
The Orangery is fast becoming the conservatory of choice for certain types of property, but is still a technically demanding structure that requires professional expertise that only specialist conservatory companies possess. Branco Windows and Doors, in association with Network VEKA, are specialist conservatory fabricators and installers offering outstanding quality, value and guarantees to the Irish homeowner from start to finish throughout the entire process.
